Ms. Laurie Wilson of the City Finance Department's Payroll Section has announced that initial terminal leave payments for former NOPD employees are scheduled to be disbursed on Friday, December 29, 2006, in conjunction with the normal NOPD pay date. This initial disbursal will be a 50% payment with the remainder to be paid in the 1st or 2nd Quarter of 2007. Any monies owed to the City due to salary overpayment in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina will be deducted from your terminal leave money.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION :

All terminal leave payments will be made via Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) to your bank of record with the City of New Orleans.
If you have changed banks since separating from City Employment, or if you have some other problem with a direct deposit payment
you MUST call the NOPD Payroll Section with your current information. NOPD Payroll Section can be reached during normal working
hours at (504) 658-2333 or (504) 658-2328.

If you wish to defer any of the proceeds from the terminal leave disbursal, you MUST have the necessary forms from your Deferred Compensation
provider turned into the Department of Finance prior to Friday, December 22, 2006. For additional information on deferring a portion of your terminal
leave money, contact Laurie Wilson of the Department of Finance, Payroll Division at (504) 658-1542.
