| President’s
Message June 6, 2006
The elections are over, both in City politics and for the PANO
Board. And regardless of who we voted for individually, the elected
positions are now filled and the time for the real work has come.
The newly elected PANO Board has already met and begun the process
of addressing a number of very relevant issues, and the results
of those efforts will be posted on this website, emailed to the
members, and printed in Newsletters to be distributed department-wide.
You will find that this website has now been updated substantially,
although not nearly completely. That is coming. You will find links
to important sites, such as the one set up for P/O Andres Gonzales.
Information about his medical condition, upcoming benefits, accounts,
and fund raisers, etc., can be found here and are being continually
updated the moment the information becomes available. There will
be a huge upcoming fund-raising benefit to be announced shortly.
And so it will be with other relevant and important issues. Information
will be posted or direct links to the appropriate websites will
be made immediately available. Please enter your email address to
begin receiving the regular updates we will be sending to keep you
posted on legal matters, civil service, and labor issues affecting
your career. And remember, email works both ways. You can use this
site to ask questions and obtain information, as well as receive
it. PANO is a membership-driven organization, so communicating with
our membership is paramount to our success. In the next few weeks,
there will also be added a Threaded Forum to discuss various topics
and encourage even greater participation and communication.
I would invite and encourage both non-members and civilians to visit
our site to take advantage of the posted information and web-links.
And your questions and/or input is welcome also.
As Since 1969, the Police Association of New Orleans has been dedicated
to the hard working men and women of the New Orleans Police Department.
Our goal is and has always been, to make the Police Department better
so that we can all make our community safer. Together, we will succeed.
ONE NOPD
Mike Glasser
